getting there

The Garrison is approximately 55 miles north of New York City - about an hour to 1 1/2 hour drive or train ride. If you're traveling from out of town, we highly recommend you rent a car to get around the Hudson Valley, and take advantage of the lovely local landscape and things to do in the area while you're there.

trains:
the metro-north hudson line will get you there from new york's grand central station, HOWEVER, the way to do it is to take the train to PEEKSKILL, NOT GARRISON, and then take
Bynum Taxi: (914) 737-3753 to The Garrison, 2015 Route 9, Garrison, NY. CALL AHEAD FOR A TAXI! We've planned for the event to end with ample time for you to make the last train of the evening (departs Peekskill at 11:38PM, arrives Grand Central at 1:04AM).

amtrak services new york's penn station; you'll have to take a cab or the subway to grand central for the train to peekskill.

If you're staying in Cold Spring, you can also easily walk from the Cold Spring train station to any of the downtown B&B's, and take cabs back and forth to The Garrison.

planes:
your best airport choices are, in order of increasing distance from the garrison, are
while westchester county is closest, your chances of getting a direct flight in and out are pretty slim. laguardia and jfk are your best bet if you're staying in new york city for the weekend. go for newark if you want to fly direct, skip new york entirely, rent a car, and head for points north.
